If you’re thinking about starting a YouTube channel, then this post is for you! In today’s post, we’ll go over the basic Youtube channel starter kit for starting your own channel and give tips and tricks to help make it successful.

Listed below are the basics you’ll need in order to start your channel:

4) Set up a YouTube account. Google will need your address and a credit card to be able to verify your account. But this is free service and shouldn’t cost you anything. If you don’t have a credit card, then use a gift card or ask a friend. Or family members if they have an extra one laying around. This will also allow you to feature ads on your videos. So that you earn money from them as well as view pop-ups from YouTube on your channel. 1) Your YouTube channel needs a theme or niche for it to be profitable. I’ve seen many YouTubers try to drift away from the things people love about them. Then try something new instead of making more of what didn’t work before. You can also partner with other people who have similar channels. So that they help promote your channel so you both gain each other’s fan base.

5) Use YouTube annotations. These are the things under the video that usually have a subscribe button, social media links, website links, etc. You can customize this for each video based on the theme of the video. Or who you want to advertise your other videos too.

6) Make sure you include a call to action at the end of every video. This is something where you specifically tell your viewers what they should do next after watching your content. Whether it subscribes or click to another video on your channel.

7) Upload all of your videos to YouTube first then try uploading them to other social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. So that you reach more viewers than just YouTube alone.

8) If you’re already on YouTube. Then move over to Google+ so that you can build up your number of subscribers. Google+ is a social media platform that is owned by Google. And they do not share their user data with third parties like Facebook or Twitter. This means you can set up your channel once. And then fill it with videos without having to worry about things like “follow back” requests.

9) Don’t just focus on YouTube videos once they’ve been uploaded, instead make sure you focus on growing an audience on other platforms as well. While you may have a small YouTube channel, if your other social media platforms are strong, then you’ll have a large audience that can be reached out to from multiple sources.

10) Get over 100 subscribers before you start uploading. Having a subscriber base allows you to take advantage of YouTube’s partner program which will allow you to earn money from your videos. This means it’s easier to upload videos and get paid for them so this is something that shouldn’t be bypassed.

11) Be genuine and honest at all times. Don’t promise anything you can’t deliver and always make sure that the content on your channel is true to what it states in the video titles and descriptions. This will help build trust with your viewers, which is something they need to feel in order to keep coming back.

12) Use keywords within your videos so that people searching Google can find them. Just make sure they fit in naturally so you don’t look like someone who’s trying too hard to get views.

13) Create connected channels – if you already have a larger YouTube channel. Then create connected channels for each of your niches. This will allow you to be able to focus on each niche. Without taking away from the main channel that people are used to seeing from you already. You can even make a playlist for each of your channels and create a schedule. Where you upload videos from one channel once per week while also repositioning old YouTube videos from your main channel to the new ones. 15) Try advertising your videos on other people’s channels. If someone is already uploading a video about the same topic you are, then ask to have their video promoted on yours. This way you can get exposure for your videos while also earning money from it.

16) Provide value when you’re able to provide it. Describe the benefits of what you’re doing in each video. Instead of just showing it in action without telling people why they should want to look at it. This makes your videos more relevant and helps build trust between viewers and YouTubers. Which is something that can’t be achieved if viewers don’t know what they’re getting up until the very end. When they watch you actually do it in action.

17) Link to your Facebook and Twitter in the video descriptions. This way when people search for content on your channel. They can easily find you on other social media platforms as well instead of just YouTube.

18) Don’t make money your goal with YouTube. While it is a big part of many YouTubers’ lives. You should never make it your sole purpose or reason for uploading videos to the site. Instead, you should be posting things that people will want to watch. And then after they’re interested in your content, you can talk about how you monetize with YouTube and how they can do the same in order to start making money off of their own channels.
